Résumé
Le scénario du Ps 79 réfère à la ruine de Jérusalem et constitue un cas d’étude pour sonder la capacité des textes bibliques à parler de la souffrance. Le style anthologique et les jeux d’intertextualités plaident pour une datation tardive du psaume et suggèrent qu’il ait pour visée de concilier différentes appréciations du cours de l’histoire et du rapport de Yhwh à son peuple. Cette hypothèse trouve un appui dans le fait que le psaume est composé de trois unités, chacune ayant une perspective propre. L’ensemble de ces traits éclairent la fonction que joue ce psaume dans la collection d’Asaf.

Das Szenario von Ps 79 bezieht sich auf den Untergang Jerusalems und bietet ein Fallbeispiel für eine Untersuchung der Fähigkeit biblischer Texte, von Leiden zu sprechen. Der anthologische Stil und die intertextuellen Verbindungen sprechen für eine Spätdatierung des Psalms und legen nahe, dass er darauf abzielt, verschiedene Einschätzungen des Verlaufs der Geschichte und der Beziehung zwischen Jhwh und seinem Volk miteinander zu verbinden. Diese Annahme findet Unterstützung darin, dass der Psalm aus drei Einheiten besteht, die jeweils eine eigene Perspektive haben. Diese Merkmale erhellen die Funktion des Psalms innerhalb der Sammlung der Asaf-Psalmen.
Abstract
The scenario of Ps 79 refers to the ruin of Jerusalem and provides a case study for examining the capacity of biblical texts to speak of suffering. The anthological style and the intertextual connections with other texts argue for a late dating of the psalm and suggest that it aims to combine different assessments of history and of the relationship between Yhwh and his people. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that the psalm is composed of three units, each with its own perspective. These features shed light on the function of this psalm within the Asaph’s psalms.
