Zusammenfassung
Die Studie untersucht die These von Abi T. Ngunga, dass die LXX »der Name« in Jes 42,4 als messianischen Titel interpretiert. Um diese These zu überprüfen, analysiert die Studie andere Stellen, in denen »der Name« Verwendung findet (Jes 26,8; 29,23; 30,27; 41,25; 43,7). An jedem dieser Verse wird gezeigt, dass eine messianische Interpretation angesichts verschiedener Übersetzungs- und Redaktionsentscheidungen wahrscheinlich ist. In drei dieser Verse (Jes 41,25, 42,4 und 43,7) wird der Titel zudem dem Knecht Jahwes zugeschrieben. Die LXX ist somit ein frühes Zeugnis für die messianische Interpretation der Figur.
Abstract
The study further examines Abi T. Ngunga’s thesis that the LXX interprets »the name« as a messianic title in Isa 42:4. To test the thesis, the study analyzes other passages wherein »the name« acts with agency in the world (Isa 26:8; 29:23; 30:27; 41:25; 43:7). In each of these, it is shown that messianic interpretation is likely in view of various translational and editorial decisions. In three of these verses (Isa 41:25, 42:4, and 43:7), moreover, the title is ascribed to the servant of Yahweh. Thus, the LXX provides early attestation for the messianic interpretation of the figure.

Cet article examine la thèse d’Abi T. Ngunga selon laquelle LXX interprète « le nom » comme un titre messianique en Es 42,4. Pour vérifier cette hypothèse, d’autres passages dans lesquels « le nom » agit dans le monde (Es 26,8 ; 29,23 ; 30,27 ; 41,25 ; 43,7) sont analysés. Dans chacun de ces passages, il est démontré que l’interprétation messianique est probable compte tenu de diverses décisions de traduction et d’édition. Dans trois de ces versets (Es 41,25, 42,4 et 43,7), en outre, le titre est attribué au serviteur de Yahvé. Ainsi, LXX fournit une attestation ancienne de l’interprétation messianique de cette figure.
