Biographical Note

The architect Joseph Fraenkel (1828- )built synagogues and other official buildings in Berlin. He also built a Jewish vocational boarding school, Juedisches Jugendwohnheim und Lehrlingsheim, in Berlin-Pankow.

Joseph Fraenkel was married to Clara Faenkel, née Benda. Clara Faenkel, née Benda was the daughter of the book dealer J. Benda in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Alice Kraft, née Fraenkel was the daughter of Joseph and Clara Fraenkel and the mother of Margot C. Langendorff.
