Jüdisches Nachrichtenblatt (Berlin, Germany : 1938-1943)

Summary:
Following the pogrom of November 1938, Jewish life in Germany was extremely curtailed. Almost immediately, the large number of Jewish newspapers available were shut down. In their place, the Nazis ordered the creation of one new Jewish newspaper, "Das Jüdische Nachrichtenblatt." This newspaper was kept under close watch by the Nazi authorities. It published discussions and news items about the Jewish community, but only those found "acceptable" by the Nazi authorities. Many of the articles and advertisements concerned issues around Jewish emigration from Germany, though this door was rapidly closing upon them.
