The journal Lešonenu has been published in Jerusalem since 1928.
Lešonenu was founded by the Hebrew Language Committee, which determined from the outset that the journal would contain five sections: (1) linguistic research, (2) expansion and standardization of the language, (3) activities of the Hebrew Language Committee, (4) review of literature and bibliography, (5) suggestions and comments. The journal appeared in this layout until the establishment of the Academy of the Hebrew Language in 1953. Since then research and language activity have been separated and Lešonenu has been dedicated exclusively to the research of Hebrew and related fields.
The journal publishes articles that deal with the Hebrew language throughout all of its historical periods, from Biblical Hebrew through contemporary Modern Hebrew, as well as articles dealing with related fields, especially Jewish Aramaic and medieval and modern Judeo-Arabic. In this quarterly journal there are also papers dealing with epigraphy, biblical Targums and the history of Hebrew grammar. Lešonenu also publishes texts which appear for the first time in print or that have never been studied before. These texts contain examples of authentic language material that sheds light on linguistic phenomena of Hebrew and that pertain to the work of linguists.
Lešonenu also contains a section “From the Historical Dictionary Project” that presents the results of studies by researchers of the Historical Dictionary Project of the Academy of the Hebrew Language. The journal also includes a section of reviews of relevant literature.

לשוננו כתב העת "לשוננו" יוצא לאור בירושלים משנת תרפ"ח (1928). את כתב העת לשוננו ייסד ועד הלשון, ונקבעו בו בראשיתו חמישה מדורים: (א) חקירות בלשון, (ב) להרחבת הלשון ותיקונה, (ג) פעולות ועד הלשון, (ד) ביקורת וביבליוגרפיה, (ה) הצעות והערות. עד להקמת האקדמיה ללשון העברית בשנת תשי"ד (1953) פעל כתב העת לפי מתכונת זו. מאז ואילך הופרד המחקר מן העשייה בלשון, ו"לשוננו" יוחד כולו לחקר העברית והתחומים הסמוכים לה. בכתב העת מתפרסמים מאמרים העוסקים בלשון העברית לכל תקופותיה, למן לשון המקרא ועד לעברית בת ימינו ממש, ובמקצת גם בתחומים הקרובים לעברית ובייחוד בארמית יהודית ובערבית יהודית בימי הביניים ובימינו. ברבעון מובאים גם מאמרים על אפיגרפיה, על תרגומי המקרא ועל תולדות הדקדוק העברי. כן מתפרסמים בו פרסום ראשון טקסטים שטרם ראו אור או טרם פורשו כלל, ובהם חומר לשוני המאיר תופעות בלשון העברית או הנוגע לעיונים של המדקדקים בה. כתב העת משמש אכסניה למדור "מן העבודה במילון ההיסטורי", שבו מוצגות עבודות החוקרים במפעל המילון ההיסטורי של האקדמיה ללשון העברית ותוצאות מחקריהם המדעיים. כן יש בכתב העת מדור לביקורות על ספרים. העורכים בעבר: אברהם צפרוני, נפתלי הרץ טור-סיני, זאב בן-חיים, יחזקאל קוטשר, שרגא אברמסון, יהושע בלאו. מזכירי המערכת בעבר: מאיר מדן, אסתר גולדנברג, חיים א' כהן. העורך כיום: משה בר-אשר. מזכיר המערכת: יוסף עופר
