    Abstract: On the basis of Marta Kubiszyn's historical articles that you can find on the Virtual Shtetl portal, a guidebook called "Śladami Żydów Lubelszczyzna" (On the trail of Jews in the Lublin region) was written. This publication was published as part of the social-educational project realized by the Panorama Kultur Association in partnership with the Grodzka Gate-NN Theater Center, the Jewish Historical Institute Association, the Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Jewish Culture and History Institution at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. The project was financially supported by the Civic Initiatives Fund.

    Abstract: Przedmiotem niniejszego studium jest tradycja artystyczna Żydów z okresu Drugiej Świątyni i czasów rabinicznych do VII wieku. W tym czasie rozwija się specyficzny język motywów i symboli, które zostały wyodrębnione z tradycji judaistycznej, a także grecko-rzymskiej i wschodniej, kształtując tożsamość narodową i religijną Żydów w sferze wizualnej. Najważniejszym elementem antycznej kultury żydowskiej, który w sposób decydujący wywarł piętno na sposobie percepcji sztuki wśród Żydów, była Świątynia Jerozolimska. Pamięć o Przybytku pielęgnowano przez kolejne wieki, także w formie rozbudowanego programu ikonograficznego stosowanego w sztuce synagogalnej. Kontrapunktem tejże analizy jest mit postrzegania Żydów jako narodu bez sztuki, który określał sposób definiowania kultury żydowskiej przez pryzmat Drugiego Przykazania.
