Abstract:
Describes the rivalry between Jews and Christians in proselytizing among the pagans in Roman-occupied Africa, which was a cause of conflict up to the year 330. After the Emperor Constantine came to power, the Judeo-Christian conflict became a political problem; becoming a Christian granted the citizen's entrance into the majority in the Empire. In the Theodosian Code (408-409), missionizing carried out by Jews was considered a crime against the state.
