Abstract:
There were two primary and distinct channels through which Muslim scholars received the text of the Bible, and both can be observed, with some variations, from a very early stage onward, continuing into the contemporary period.In their attempt to employ biblical material for polemical purposes, Muslim scholars were interested in passages that purportedly predicted the advent of Islam and the Prophet Muḥammad.
