Kurzfassung:
Discusses the Holocaust Exhibition in London's Imperial War Museum in terms of the tension between the authentic object perspective that focuses on the historical experience itself and the electronic media or televised video-testimonies of Holocaust survivors included in the exhibition. The former, the main thrust of the Holocaust presentation, focuses the viewer on the past, while the latter takes into account post-Holocaust means of dealing with history and the formation of collective memory that is mediated. While noting the exhibition's privileging of the former approach, points out that the future may well privilege the latter.
