The first reform synagogue in Britain was Consecrates in Central London in 1842.The event was a manifestation of the religious schism which existed within British Jewry.Two further reform congregations, in Manchester and Bradford, were established during the nineteenth century, but the reform movement as such could not be said to exist until 1942 when six existing congregations united as the associates british synagogues of grat britain in 1958, has grown significanly significantly.
