Kurzfassung:
Enumerates anti-Jewish passages in the commentary of Theodoret (bishop of Kyros in Syria, ca.393-ca.460) on Deuteronomy (a commentary in the form of questions and answers): the Jews of the Old Testament, he writes, are rightly accused by Moses himself and the prophets of unfaithfulness to the Law; those of the New Testament and of Theodoret's own time reject the true faith, faith in Christ, and are therefore rejected by God in favor of the Gentiles; the Jews are thisworldly, on a low moral level, and have to be motivated by thisworldly blessings and curses; and they are murderers - of Christ and of his Jewish followers. These (mis)interpretations are in keeping with the perspectives of Theodoret's times, when Christianity strove to dissociate itself from its Jewish rooots; but that perspective must be rejected under the conditions of our own times.
