Abstract:
In 2002 Harvard University President Summers claimed that some of those who had called for Harvard to divest from Israel spoke in terms that were antisemitic in their effect if not their intent. Alexander criticizes Professor Judith Butler's response to this statement, claiming that she distorted the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, espoused the end of the Jewish state, and disproportionately condemned Israel while ignoring worse abusers of human rights.
