Abstract:
Asserts the significance of the gendered study of the Holocaust, which is denied by some critics. The amount of women's accounts of the Holocaust collected so far is less than the amount of male testimonies, which is unnatural, given women's greater penchant to recount their experiences and better memory. This fact attests to a prejudiced approach of scholars. Argues that women often suffered differently from men, and that they sometimes had better chances for survival. Representation of experiences by women survivors is also different from that of men.
