Abstract:
Following a brief summary of the history of the "Protocols" (pp. 95-98), describes the trial in Bern in 1933-35 (and the appeal which ended in 1937), of five of the purveyors of the "Protocols" in Switzerland. Loosli served as a court-appointed expert at that trial. Relates the strategy used by the plaintiffs - the Jewish Community of Switzerland (Schweizerischer Israelitischer Gemeindebund) as well as that of Bern. Loosli's report clearly sided with the plaintiffs, showing that the "Protocols" was a forgery and also propagated false information. The judge's verdict in 1935 convicted the defendants, but the court of appeals exonerated them in 1937.
