Abstract:
From the 1960s, inversion of truth and reality has been one of the most favored propaganda methods of Israel's adversaries. One of its expressions is the accusation that the Jews, victims of the Nazis, have now become the new Nazis, oppressors of the Palestinian Arabs. Israel's defensive actions are called aggression, and the aggressive acts of Muslims are called defense. Traces the origins of this method back to Great Britain during World War I. The Nazis then used it in their propaganda. After 1945, Johann von Leers, an antisemite, a Nazi ideologue, and a proponent of rapprochement between Nazis and radical Islamists, was instrumental in transmitting this method through Egypt (where he lived between 1955-65 and worked in the Egyptian Information Department) to the Soviet Union. Shows how the inversion of reality has been used by the Soviets, the PLO, and Hamas, as well as at the Durban Conference in 2001.
