Abstract:
Analyzes the Polish Catholic press of the interwar period regarding its attitude to the "Jewish question". Surveys motifs such as baptism of the Jews - if they convert to Christianity can or can they not be treated as "full" Poles. In general, Jews were presented as enemies of Catholicism, playing a destructive role in Polish society. Discusses, as well, reasons for the differences between Jews and Christians, which are not (according to the majority of the writers) racial, but lie in the psychology of the Jews, negatively influenced by the Talmud. Their situation in Poland was presented in the Catholic press as an arena of struggle between Catholics and Jews, a struggle which only one side can win.
