Abstract:
Arab-Nazi connections and cooperation began before the Second World War and continued until the collapse of the Nazi Reich. The most prominent figure in this field was Haj Muhammad Amin al-Husaini, the Mufti of Jerusalem. An active collaborator with the Nazis, he was also an ardent antisemite who applauded the Nazis' "Final Solution of the Jewish question" and tried to contribute to it. He was one of the instigators of the Baghdad pogrom in June 1941. There were other Arab antisemites and Nazi sympathizers. After the war many Arab and Western writers, and even some Israelis, tried to downplay the fact of Arab-Nazi collaboration.
