Abstract:
Reports on an international conference held in Nida, Lithuania, between 8-13 September 1997, on "History and Genocide in Lithuania". Three major topics were discussed: "Lithuania's Internal and Foreign Policies in 1918-40", "The History of the Jews of Eastern Europe in 1918-44 and Genocide", and "Typology of Genocide - the Nazi and the Soviet Example". Among the participants at the conference were Ezra Mendelsohn and Dina Porat from Israel, who dealt with the situation of the Jews in Eastern and Central Europe, and the participation of Lithuanians in the mass murder of Jews in 1941-44.
