Abstract:
Examines the hidden, connotative meanings of Haider's and Le Pen's public pronouncements. States that both of them indirectly express their antisemitism and their admiration for the fascist regimes of the 1930s-40s (in Haider's case, for the Nazi regime in Germany), and both deny the Holocaust. For example, when referring to immigrants from North Africa, Le Pen also means Jews; when extolling Nazi policy in the field of labor, Haider in fact is extolling Nazism and its racial policy, including genocide. Reflects on the techniques used by both men in order to ensure that their audience understands their message.
Note:
On their remarks relating to the Jews and to the Holocaust.
