Kurzfassung:
The idea of including teaching about the Holocaust in national school curricula in Great Britain and other countries met with skepticism on the part of some historians and educators. Responds to the views of Lionel Kochan, Peter Novick, and Nicholas Kinloch. They argue that the Holocaust contains no positive lessons for students of any ethnic background. Contends that knowledge of the Holocaust is indeed unable to prevent other genocides, but some lessons can be derived from it, e.g. the importance of commemoration and of anti-racist, multicultural, moral and proper religious education. It teaches students the danger of racism and of turning a blind eye to evil.
