Abstract:
Contends that, historically, the denial of the Holocaust finds its roots in the Allied (i.e. American and British) informational strategy during the Second World War. In 1943 and after, the fate of the Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe was rarely mentioned in Allied propaganda. The implementation of the Final Solution was variously suppressed, ignored, or trivialized. It was not until the Eichmann trial in 1962 that the unwillingness to confront the Final Solution as a separate and specific crime was reversed.
