Abstract:
Discusses three related activities in which Sutzkever was engaged. He collected material for the prosecution of war criminals in his memoir "Fun Vilner geto", written in the summer of 1944 and published in 1945 in Moscow. This activity culminated in his testimony at the Nuremberg Trials in February 1946. He completed his collection of ghetto poems which he began writing in June 1941; some of the poems were published in his collection "Di festung" (1945). His third activity was the rescue of Jewish cultural treasures in Vilna.
