Abstract:
Surveys antisemitism in the United States in the interwar period, including anti-Jewish stereotypes, immigration restrictions, and Henry Ford's antisemitic propaganda. Discusses official and unofficial rules regarding the number of Jews accepted at some universities, clubs, hotels, and resorts; some of these excluded all Jews. In addition, there was an increase in violent acts against Jews during the 1930s-early 1940s. American Jews reacted by creating their own organizations and sub-economy, and their own hotels and resorts, and by supporting and helping themselves.
