Abstract:
The present study concentrated on the effects of status and treatment, defined and measured objectively and subjectively, on attitudes of 302 West Bank Arabs working in 13 major industrial plants in Israel. Findings indicate that "objective" and "subjective" treatment of Arab workers correlates positively with the direction of attitude change towards Israelis. Status, objectively defined, correlates negatively with the direction of attitude change. However, when subjects evaluated their status subjectively, a positive relationship between subjective status and direction of attitude change was found.
