Abstract:
At a time when most American Jews desired American intervention in European politics, but most Americans wished to avoid such intervention, the Jews were accused of disloyalty to the country. Surveys the views of a small group of Senators and Congressmen who accused Jewish bankers of conspiring to drag the U.S. into the war. They also said Hollywood, generally believed to be controlled by Jews, was whipping up war hysteria. States that these members of Congress, who were usually from agrarian states, were influenced by the Populist-Progressive tradition and believed that big business and the Jews had engineered America's entry into World War I.
