Abstract:
An evaluation of the structure, contents, and results of Mark and Gail Appel's "Learning from the Past, Teaching for the Future" program for Holocaust and anti-racism education, held every second year since 2000 at York University in Toronto. The program brings together students from Canada, Germany, and Poland. Dufour discusses themes, methodology, and moral issues related to Holocaust education dealt with in these programs, including the uniqueness of the Holocaust, antisemitism as a form of racism, the "communicability" of the Holocaust, the benefits and dangers of Holocaust education, and "Holocaust saturation".
