Abstract:
Discusses the case of Pastor Julius von Jan who was born in and served in the village Oberlenningen in Germany. A few days after the "Kristallnacht" pogrom, Jan gave a sermon in his church against the anti-Jewish violence. Following this sermon, Jan was imprisoned and tortured by the SA. He remained in prison for 16 months. In 1943 he was called up by the Wehrmacht. After the war he returned to Oberlenningen. He died in 1964. Pp. 30-33 present the text of the sermon in French translation.
