Kurzfassung:
Relates how the Nazis looted art works owned by Jews from all of the countries in occupied Europe. The focus of Nazi plunder was France, as Paris was the world's largest and most important art market, and Jews had occupied a prominent place in the pre-World War II art world. Throughout the war, French art dealers played an important role in the trade of looted art. In recent years there has been an increasing number of legal claims and public disputes regarding art stolen by the Germans - relating to museums, to dealers, and to private collections all around the world. States that some 20,000 items of looted art remain in Western museums. The number of looted objects in the former Soviet Union and its satellites may be as high as 30,000.
