Abstract:
Th e paper, other than representing the evolution of one of the youngest museumfi elds, museum education, introduces the latest debates in the museum world. Th etopic of the national identities and roles thay have in creating museums has beendebated by diff erent scholars, but it also inspires us to look at how the concept ofnational identity shaped museum politics, structures, collections, exhibitions andprograms. Due to the reopening of the National Museum in Belgrade it will beused as the case study, through which we will observe diff erent national contextsemphasizing the Jewish cultural heritage and its place and interpretation as part ofthe heritge that is being presrved in the Museum.
