Abstract:
Almost all antisemitic medals of the 17th-19th centuries were of Germanic origin, the main type being the "Korn Jude". Issued in 1694-1696, and again in 1770-1773, it reflected periods of distress and high corn prices for which Jewish corn speculators were blamed. Other German antisemitic medals, such as the "Jud Süss" medal, are described, along with a single Belgian example. An unusual English medal reflects a price war over theater tickets in 1809.
