Abstract:
After 1925, the Pahlevi dynasty initiated modernization in Iran, led by a German-trained nationalist movement of young intellectuals strongly influenced by Gobineau's racism. The German Propaganda Ministry financed nationalist publications. German agents penetrated the educational system and the army. From 1939 on, public offices and Muslim businesses were closed to Jews, and street attacks and blood libels multiplied until the Soviet-British invasion in 1941. Lists anti-Jewish acts and postwar fascist-nationalist parties, including the racist Sumka Party.
