Abstract:
In recent years, fundamentalist Islam has become the most virulently antisemitic movement in the U.S. The Islamists control the American Muslim community of six million. Their antisemitic credo combines elements of Christian anti-Judaism, Nazi-style racism, ideas from "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, " and the theories of the Nation of Islam. Their political successes, as well as the number of victims of their violence, surpass by far those of the traditional extreme right. If the Nation of Islam has become the country's leading font of anti-Jewish rhetoric, mainstream Islamist organizations have a near monopoly on anti-Jewish violence. The fundamentalist Islamic movements present a much greater danger for Jews than the Christian far right.
