Abstract:
Examines whether it is possible to recount the atrocities of the Holocaust in ordinary language. States that, apart from "silence", there is a need for archetypal and mythological forms of representation. Nevertheless, most of the literature on Theresienstadt was written in traditional forms, especially as autobiographies. On the basis of chosen texts, examines the organization and reconstruction of the memory of Theresienstadt. Mentions the "methaphor" as a possible instrument to express certain realities of the Holocaust.

Another version appeared as "Limbus und Hölle - Metaphern des Unbeschreiblichen: das Ghetto Theresienstadt in der Literatur der Nachkriegszeit" in "Theresienstädter Studien und Dokumente" (1996) 212-226.
