Abstract:
Examines four anti-Nazi Austrian periodicals, presenting their views on National Socialism and on antisemitism during the period between 1932-1938. "Der christliche Ständestaat" was a conservative weekly published by Germans who had emigrated to Austria; "Die jüdische Front" was the official journal of the Austrian Jewish war veterans; "Die Erfüllung". was a bi-monthly published by Das Pauluswerk, dealing with Christian-Jewish relations; and "Gerechtigkeit: gegen Rassenhass und Menschennot", was edited by Irene Harand, a lauded Austrian human rights activist and campaigner against antisemitism.
