Abstract:
Moses Freudenstein is the protagonist in Raabe's novel "Der Hungerpastor" (1864). Although Raabe did not have antisemitic intentions, the portrayal of the character was viewed as antisemitic and used as such by propagandists, especially by the Nazis.
