Abstract:
Examines how the two Canadian Jewish writers confront and explore the function of art in post-Holocaust reality. Both authors explore the moral ramifications of the Holocaust and attempt to reawaken a moral and spiritual sense in a world deadened by the destruction. In spite of the tragedy, the artist must not succumb to despair but use his art and creativity to point the moral way for mankind.
