Abstract:
Takes issue with the portrayal of Lukan antisemitism in J.T. Sanders' "The Jews in Luke-Acts" (see Vol. 3, no. 165). Sanders claims that Luke's narrative evinces a "fundamental and systematic hostility toward Jews, " while Weatherly believes that Luke describes both positive and negative aspects of the Jews, but that Sanders subsumes the positive factors to negative ones. Concludes that religious negation is independent of ethnic prejudice and absolute religious conviction is not racial bigotry.
