Abstract:
Schlick, a German philosopher and physicist, the founding father of logical positivism and the Vienna Circle, was murdered by a student at the University of Vienna in 1936. Although Schlick was not Jewish, the event became a focal point of growing nationalist and anti-Jewish sentiments in the city.
