Abstract:
Analyzes the technical jargon employed by the Nazis, asserting that this strategy was used in order to view human beings as merchandise. Quotes from Eichmann's deposition during his trial and from reports of interviews in Lanzmann's film "Shoah". The deportations were handled as a technical problem. German leaders who witnessed the atrocities felt pity only for themselves. Thus, moral considerations can be avoided by viewing the subject as in another sphere, which changes the executors into robots.
