Abstract:
Genealogy of two German Jewish families called Frank, descendents of Levi Wolf-Frank (1772-1861) and Emmanuel Frank (dates unknown) respectively. Descendents lived in the following German municipalities (among many others): Berlin, Brakel, Dessau, Gelsenkirchen, Halberstadt, Harzgerode, Heustreu, Kassel, Mühlhausen, Oschersleben (Bode), Unsleben.
Abstract:
Among the hundreds of individuals listed in this table, several have achieved worldwide prominence; these include Solomon ben Isaac, known as Rashi (1040-1105), Moses Isserles, known as the ReMa (ca. 1525-1572), Solomon ben Jehiel Luria, known as the Maharshal (ca. 1510-1574), Scholem Shachno (d 1558), Franz Rosenzweig (1886-1929), John Schlesinger (1926-2003), and Ian Buruma.
