Abstract:
Argues against recent articles about the "Kristallnacht" pogrom which claim that Hitler was informed of vom Rath's death only on the evening of November 9th. Claims that Hitler had been informed earlier, and that his surprise in the middle of an official meeting was a performance and meant as the opening phase of the pogrom. The fact that he left the organization of the "Kristallnacht" events to Goebbels proves that his official involvement would have damaged the foreign relations agreement established shortly before in Munich.
