Abstract:
Disagrees with the approach of Giorgio Agamben to Holocaust testimony as expressed in his writings, and in particular his book "Remnants of Auschwitz". Agamben asserts the impossibility of witnessing to the Holocaust because survivors' accounts do not transmit the absolute experience of human degradation and death which took place in the camps, as exemplified by the "Muselmann". He dismisses all survivor testimony and history, thus preventing rather than preserving Holocaust memory.
