Antisemitism in literature
Abstract:
Objects to literary critics who falsely connect Céline's racial theories to his literature. Criticizes three works by Philippe Alméras: "Les idées de Céline: Mythe de la race, politique, et pamphlets" (1992), "Céline: Entre haines et passions"(1994), and "Je suis un bouc: Céline et l'antisémitisme" (2000). States that only Céline's pamphlets are totally racist and antisemitic. There is latent antisemitism in his novels, but one can also find elements of criticism of racist ideology (e.g. in "Guignol's Band"). Ridicules people who refuse to read Celine's novels because of his racism, claiming that art and life are two separate spheres.
