Abstract:
Interprets Freud's rejection of male hysteria and his shift to an emphasis on the active, phallic, mother-desiring, father-killing, "normal" gentile (Aryan?) male as suppression of his homosexual leanings (e.g. his attraction to his colleague Wilhelm Fliess). The inventor of psychoanalysis feared being identified as a queer, since this is how contemporary European antisemitism tended to view feminized male Jews.
