Abstract:
Presenting an introduction to this collection of articles, discusses George Mosse's research studies on how myths and symbols were and still are adopted for political causes in modern history, and how they spread amongst the populace, as in the case of antisemitism in Germany and perpetration of the Holocaust. In Mosse's view, "the Jew" became a symbol for the Germans of what is wrong in the world.
