Abstract:
Observes that freely invented or manipulated statistics, which create an impression of reliability, are often used to falsify history. An outstanding case is the number of Jews murdered in the Holocaust, which Holocaust deniers put at a few hundred thousand at the most. Discusses the problems of arriving at an exact number, and various methods used over the years to attain the correct number. Argues that even though this will never be possible, the order of magnitude can be established with certainty, which is at least six million.
