Abstract:
Presents a theological view of points of contention between Jews and Christians throughout history. In regard to antisemitism, mentions the Church's adoption of the role of the "new and spiritual Israel"; i.e. supersessionism. The ever-present suffering of the Jews was considered as a punishment for their rejection of Jesus Christ. This indifference to the Jews' suffering explains the lack of Christian opposition to the Nazi persecution of Jews.
