Abstract:
The song, written in 1616, contains an account of the persecution of the Jews in Frankfurt and Worms in 1614-15, and a description of how to perform the song. In contrast to the "Megillas Vints", Pukh names the central figure of the aggression against the Jews, Vincenz Fettmilch, only once and he does not present the sufferings of the Jews as intensely as the author of the "Megillas Vints". The Yiddish text appears on pp. 18-32 and its transcription on pp. 32-43, accompanied by sixteen appendices.
Note:
Includes an edition of the Yiddish text (pp. 18-32) and its transcription (pp. 32-43).
