Abstract: Compares the presentation of the "Kladovo-Šabac affair" - when a group of about 1,000 refugees from Austria and Germany on its way to Palestine was trapped in Yugoslavia by the Nazi invasion - in two research works by Israeli and Austrian scholars: "Pareshat Kladovo-Šabac" ("The Kladovo-Šabac Affair"), by Dalia Ofer and Hannah Weiner (1992), and "Gescheiterte Flucht: Der jüdische 'Kladovo-Transport' auf dem Weg nach Palästina, 1939-42", by Gabriele Anderl and Walter Manoschek (1993). Questions the attempt of the Israeli work to refrain from passing judgment on the conduct of the Zionist establishment in Palestine toward the group, whose members probably could have been rescued, as were other groups of refugees who reached Palestine safely during that period.
