Kurzfassung:
Argues that, from fall 1939, the German credit banks (e.g. Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank) in the Generalgouvernement not only had comprehensive knowledge concerning Nazi anti-Jewish policies, but profited both directly and indirectly from the repressive policy against the Jews. Through the registration and handling of Jewish property, the banks were able to accelerate the process of impoverishment of the Jews, and in this way contributed to events leading to the Holocaust. Illustrates this with activities of the banks during the expropriation of Jews and the deprivation of their rights in Poland in 1939-42, the economic transactions of the Transferstelle (Transfer Office) in the Warsaw ghetto, the murder of Jews as reflected in banking correspondence, and financial aspects of "Operation Reinhard".
